What Should I Wear?

What to wear is always a challenge when we don't know what to expect. At our church no one really cares what style of clothing people wear. Some wear shorts year round, others wear jeans, others dress up a little more formal. For us the style of clothing isn't as important as the heart. Colossians 3:14 (NLT) says, "The most important piece of clothing you must wear is love." So our focus isn't on a dress code, but rather our hearts. However, we also know that you don't want to stand out either. So here are a few descriptions to give you an idea of what to expect.

Most  people, including pastoral staff, dress fairly causal. More like business casual. And yet, during certain times of year that changes.  For example, during the summer months Pastor Brian wears a comfortable pair of shorts, a t-shirt and flip flops.  But, most of the time he wears a trendy shirt and a nice pair of  jeans.  Occasionally some of the ladies wear a skirt, but many wear jeans.  Once again, we don't focus on a dress code, but encourage everyone to come comfortably.

What’s Inside The Church?

We are a well-balanced congregation meeting in a building with very traditional architecture.  But, we have done some things on the inside to make it very comfortable and have a modern feel.  We have replaced the pews with chairs,  utilized video and technology to enhance our services and even provide a full-service espresso stand for your convenience.

Pastor Brian usually teaches from a stool and always has key notes and verses projected on the video screens throughout the building for you to follow along.

What’s The Music Like?

Sunday Morning worship  provides a well balanced mix of modern music with tasteful upbeat celebration.  Because our Sunday service is geared for our guests, we try to provide music that is culturally relevant with words that people understand.  During this time of our service you can expect to clap your hands, see people raise their hands, and sing with joyful hearts.  We use music to help people focus on being thankful for what Christ has done for them.  Ultimately, we desire the Holy Spirit to work in our lives as a result of our worship efforts.

Our instrumentation varies.  Sometimes, we have a full band, other times we offer a more simplistic & acoustical approach.

There are lots of styles of worship.  We utilize modern songwriters such as Hillsong, Jesus Culture, Elevation Worship, and even some traditional songs with a modern flair. No matter what style of music we provide, our goal is the same:  To lift up the name of Jesus, sing His praises, and create an environment for the Holy Spirit to work in our lives.

Can I Bring Coffee With Me?

Iced or hot coffee 2.jpg

Absolutely!!!  One of our core values is to be Culturally Relevant. When it comes to coffee, we understand how important this subject has become in our culture. So we not only encourage you to bring your coffee with you, but if you're running late you can swing by SIPS, our full-service espresso bar, to purchase your favorite coffee drink at the church.  We have highly trained baristas who use the highest quality supplies to ensure you get exactly what you order.

SIPS is open 30 minutes prior to each service & self-serve brewed coffee is available the entire service.

What Version of the Bible is Used?

NLT BIBLE 2.jpg

Pastor Brian typically uses the New Living Translation (NLT) when he teaches. He has discovered its language to be very modern and understandable by most readers. Certainly, there is not a best translation that fits all needs. So there are times Pastor Brian will utilize other translations throughout his teaching to better communicate the truth of God's Word.  No matter what translation bible you bring with you on Sunday, you're sure to learn something new.

What About My Kids?

We are very family focused and kid friendly.  We also understand the importance of providing an environment that is more suitable for children.  That's why we provide various settings for all ages.

During the service, shortly after the music is finished, the children are dismissed to KidZone.

For younger children we provide nursery care the entire service for ages 0-2 years old and a Jr. Kids Church for children 3-5 years old. Be sure to ask an usher or greeter where these locations are so you can have enough time to register your child in our check-in/ check-out secruity system.

We encourage families with children whose ages range from 1st-5th grade to sit together during the first part of the service. This way our children can learn to worship the Lord in singing and families have opportunity to grow their faith together.  Shortly after the music is finished we will dismiss the children to KidZone.

What’s The Teaching Style?

There are many styles used in modern churches to present God's Word. Some use a traditional "preaching" style while others consider themselves to be "teachers."  Pastor Brian's style lands somewhere  in the middle.  But, one thing is sure, he always teaches for the sake of application not just information.

Gifted communicators work hard at helping the listener apply what is being taught.  Pastor Brian uses the help of video and visual aids to assist his listeners in retaining the message. At the end of every teaching, Pastor Brian concludes with a segment called "How Do I Apply This To My Life?" His goal is to help the listener take the next steps in putting the principles of the bible to work in their life.

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light." Matthew 11:28-30
